Samuel P. “Mac” McClurkin, IV is a Montgomery native who moved to Spanish Fort in 2006 to pursue his legal career. Mac’s commitment to teamwork and a strong work ethic was developed in a home with a rich military background. Mac is the grandson and namesake of legendary fighter pilot, Col. Sam P. McClurkin, Jr., who served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and later as Wing Commander of Craig Air Force Base in Selma, Alabama. Mac’s other grandfather, William Harris, served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Mac joined Andy Citrin Injury Attorneys in August of 2008. He has served as lead and co-lead counsel in numerous cases. His practice areas include 18 wheeler accidents, motorcycle wrecks, automobile accidents, industrial accidents, product defects, medical negligence, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, nursing home neglect, and fraud. Mac earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Aviation Professional Flight from Auburn University in 2004. While at Auburn University, Mac was a member of the Aviation Honor Society, received numerous honors and awards, and became a member and officer of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Mac holds the following flight ratings: Commercial Pilot, Single and Multi-Engine Land Instrument Airplane, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII) and Multiengine Flight Instructor (MEI). Before law school, Mac served as a corporate airline pilot with Tractor and Equipment Company in Birmingham, Alabama. At Tractor and Equipment Company, he piloted a Cessna CitationJet as well as a Beechcraft Super King Air. Mac also served as a flight instructor at the Columbus, Georgia and Shelby County, Alabama regional airports where he helped numerous students obtain various flight ratings.
Mac is admitted to practice law in the state courts of Alabama and Florida, as well as the United States District Court of Southern Alabama. Mac is a member of the Alabama State Bar, Baldwin County Bar Association, Mobile County Bar Association, and South Alabama Trial Lawyers Association. He serves on the executive committee of the Mobile Bar Association of Young Lawyers.
While at Alabama, Mac served his community as a member of the Elder Law Clinic, providing pro bono services to the elderly, including drafting wills, power of attorney documents and advanced health care directives. Mac currently serves the Mobile and Baldwin County communities as a member of the Volunteer Lawyers Program, providing pro bono legal assistance to citizens in need.
Mac’s brother, John McClurkin, is also an attorney. Mac enjoys playing basketball, softball, football, golf and guitar, as well as spending time with his family, friends, and his dog.
Mac is currently licensed in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, and Georgia.
