Attorney Andy CitrinAndy Citrin has devoted his professional life to helping people killed or seriously injured by the wrongful conduct of others. Since 1986, Andy has handled thousands of car and truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, defective products, workplace injury and wrongful death cases that have resulted in numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for his clients.

Andy has been selected to be featured on Alabama Super Lawyers 2009 and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He is Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate. Andy is one of the top 100 Trial Lawyers in Alabama and is recognized by the Bar Register as one of the community’s most eminent professionals. Andy has been AV rated (the highest peer rating available) for more than 17 years. In addition to these distinctions, the firm has been named on the Bar Register of Preeminent Law Firms by Martindale-Hubbell for the past 10 years

In addition to his experience as a trial attorney, Andy has vast experience as an appellate attorney in civil cases. He has been lead appellate counsel on more than 70 reported appellate decisions in the State of Alabama and elsewhere. From 1991 to 1998, Andy served on the Alabama Pattern Jury Instruction, a position which required appointment by the Alabama Supreme Court.

After Andy represented the family of a local student that was killed by a distracted driver, he formed the Citrin Safety Foundation. The mission of the Citrin Safety Foundation is to prevent teen deaths and injuries as a result of traffic accidents. The Citrin Safety Foundation offers the National Safety Council’s “Alive at 25” driver safety program for teens. The program is provided free of charge to teens through schools, churches, and organizations.

Andy is married to the former Patsy Jeanne Little of Mobile, Alabama. They have four children: Sarah Elizabeth Souther Citrin, Katherine Ruhyer Citrin, Andrew T. Citrin, Jr., and Patsy Jeanne Little Citrin. The Citrin’s attend the Church of the Apostles in Daphne, Alabama. Andy has served as a teacher for the Crown Ministries financial course. He is a charter member of the Atticus Finch Society, a lawyer-funded endowment which supports the Alabama Law Foundation, a charitable, tax-exempt organization which provides justice for the poor.

Andy obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1986. Andy graduated seventh in his class, cum laude, and received the distinguished Curia Honoris award from the faculty of the law school. At Cumberland, Andy served as the Articles Editor for the American Journals of Trial Advocacy and received numerous “book awards” for earning the highest grade on the final exams of several core subjects. Before Cumberland, Andy attended Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he served as President of the Sigma Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Andy attended high school in Boca Raton, Florida at St. Andrews Episcopal College Preparatory School from 1975-1979. Andy grew up in Hollywood, Florida. He was the fifth of six children to Dr. Yale and Georgia Lee Souther Citrin.
